Policies & Services

General Information:

Specific facility guidelines and policies outline acceptable usages.

Please note that policies are subject to the discretion and interpretation of the on-duty area/facility supervisor.

Individuals with a disability who may need special facility accommodations should contact Recreational Sports in advance to discuss possibilities by calling 706-542-5060. Program specific accommodations need additional time and should be addressed to the specific administrator of that area.

Refund Policy:

Full refunds are issued if the Department of Recreational Sports cancels a class, activity or program. All other refunds are charged a $15.00 processing fee. Classes, activities and programs costing less than $15.00 are not eligible for a refund.

Refunds are only granted in cases where there is a documented medical condition that precludes completion of the class, activity or program. If a refund is warranted, it is pro-rated based upon the class, activity or program start date.

Health Insurance:

All individuals participating in a recreational activity assume responsibility for their health. It is recommended that all individuals who intend to participate should have a physical examination beforehand for their own protection.

The University of Georgia does not provide health insurance coverage for accidents or illnesses incurred while participating in a recreational activity or on recreational facilities. It is recommended that each individual secure his or her own accident/health insurance policy.

The University recommends that each participant explore one of the following insurance alternatives:

Ramsey Student Center Parking

*FREE parking options (some restrictions apply) for Ramsey Center patrons and Rec Sports participants:

• E04 (East Campus Deck), With UGACard Mo-Fr 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.,
Sa & Su all day (excluding Special Events)
• E03 (former pay lot) and E09 (behind Ramsey), Mo-Fr 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.,
Sa & Su all day
• Rec Sports Complex: E01 (entrance lot) and E21 (IM Fields Deck)
Mo-Fr 3:30 pm – 7:00 a.m., Sa & Su all day

Intersession parking (free with any UGA parking permit) will be in E05 (East Village Deck).

*East Campus Deck (E04)

• An annual parking pass valid for 90 minutes in the East Campus Deck is available to faculty/staff Ramsey Center members from Parking Services for $35.

• E04 is now staffed by a Parking Services attendant from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. To enter the deck on those days between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., you must have either a Ramsey Center F/S pass, an E04 permit or pay by the hour as a visitor. In addition, those exiting the deck between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. must either scan their E04 permit or pay an hourly fee.

• Current hourly rates (as of August 1, 2009) are as follows:
1st 30 Minutes $2.00
1st Hour $4.00
Each additional hour $1.00
Maximum daily fee $10.00

• After 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, any one showing a valid UGACard is admitted to the deck free.

• Weekend parking will be open and free except as follows***
***During special events, (e.g. home football games or other major events such as EC Swim Championships, etc.) free weekend parking privileges will be suspended. Please see the parking link below for more information.

*Other Parking Zones
• E03, the former pay lot adjacent to the deck, is now a permit only lot from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• E21 (IM Fields Deck) and E01 (Rec Sports Complex entrance lot) are permit only from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
