The Mary Couey Memorial Fund has been established to honor the memory of Mary Couey and her love for outdoor recreational programs. Mary's life was tragically ended by an intoxicated driver while traveling through the mountains of North Carolina. She was a special person who enjoyed participating in the Georgia Outdoor Recreational Programs (GORP) while a student at the University of Georgia. Her memory and spirit will forever be a part of the GORP program and through this memorial fund she will help other UGA students experience the beauty of the outdoors.
"Mary's beauty went so deep and her smiles radiated so far, to know her was to be drawn to her. She was always there to solve a problem, offer encouragement, or make you laugh. Her calm yet passionate soul inspires and challenges us to be more like her and to appreciate and embrace the simplistic beauty of the outdoors. Deeply loved by family and friends, she will remain in our hearts always." - Rose Couey
All gifts to the Mary Couey Memorial Fund will be used to purchase equipment and supplies to enhance the quality and breadth of the GORP experience for UGA students. Help other UGA students experience the gift of GORP by making your gift today:
