Body Composition Print Page

$1 Body Compositions - Let a certified personal trainer determine your percentage lean mass and fat mass using the three-site skinfold test.  It is important to maintain or build lean body mass while minimizing fat mass.  The advantage of monitoring body composition as well as body weight is to see what kind of weight you are losing or gaining.  The goal is to reduce the percentage of body fat, not necessarily just body weight.  This method of testing is both an easy and accurate method for monitoring your progress.  The test takes less than 5 minutes and will give you a good baseline measurement or show improvement.

How to get tested?

  • Bring $1 to room 143 on the first floor of the Ramsey Center.
  • Come dressed in shorts, t-shirt and a sports bra for women.
  • Do not workout prior to the test as that will produce inaccurate test results.

When to get tested?

The last opportunity in the Fall 2009 semester is Monday, November 9th from 5-7pm

Body Composition Appointments - Appointments are also available to test body composition for $5.  A seven-site skinfold test is performed using Lange calipers in order to determine a ratio of lean mass to fat mass.  Sign up at the Cashier's Window of the Ramsey Center and get tested at your convenience.
