Eligible Participants and Fees

For any activity/clinic taking place past the Ramsey turnstiles, a current Ramsey Student Center membership is required. Activities in this category will be noted with two price categories (Student/Ramsey Member) and include SCUBA courses, Climbing Wall, Kayak clinics, and some other educational clinics. All current full-time UGA fees paid students are automatically members. UGA Faculty and Staff must opt in for a Ramsey membership; please visit the Cashier's Window, located in the Ramsey lobby, or call 706-542-2192 for more information.

For clinics/trips taking place in the academic classrooms and/or outside of the Ramsey Student Center, no membership is required. Activities in this category will be noted with three price categories (Student/Ramsey Member/Non-member) and include backpacking, caving, hiking, rock climbing, paddling, and other outdoor trips. These activities are open to anyone who wishes to register. Minimum age for participation is 16 years.

Trip & Climbing Wall Registration

All registration can be completed at the Cashier's Window located in the lobby of the Ramsey Student Center. Please bring your UGA ID card and be prepared to pay by cash, check, Bulldog Bucks, MasterCard or Visa. Registration deadlines are specified for each trip/clinic in this catalog and on our website (recsports.uga.edu).

All participants must complete a liability waiver and health history at the time of registration. To expedite registration time, these forms can be completed online and printed prior to coming to the Ramsey Student Center to pay the required fee. Visit our website (recsports.uga.edu) to find the Climbing Wall Clinic and Outdoor Rec Trip Registration Forms.

Full refunds are issued if the Department of Recreational Sports cancels a class, activity or program. All other refunds are charged a $15.00 processing fee. Classes, activities and programs costing less than $15.00 are not eligible for a refund. Refunds can only be considered if there is a documented medical condition that precludes completion of the activity. If a refund is warranted after activity has begun, it is pro-rated based upon the activity start date.

If a refund is due to a participant, they can either apply that refund to another trip/activity during that semester or that refund must be acquired by the end of that semester.

Refunds are only granted in cases where there is a documented medical condition that precludes completion of the class, activity or program. If a refund is warranted, it is pro-rated based upon the class, activity or program start date.

Participant cancellations made more than one week before the trip/clinic can be refunded - minus a $15 processing fee - IF a replacement is found. No refund is given for participant cancellations made the week of the event or for a "no show."

Deposits are always non-refundable and any money paid toward the trip balance is not refundable after the final balance deadline. All payment deadlines must be met or space will be canceled and payments forfeited.

No refunds are given for participant cancellation of a Climbing Wall Clinic as it is under the $15 processing fee limit. A participant may switch to another clinic during the same semester if notification is given to the Cashier's Window more than three days prior to the clinic.

No refunds for equipment rented from ORC unless Outdoor Rec cancels a trip in which the participant was scheduled to participate.
